08:04 AM ET 07.07 | The Redskins may be out to revamp their defense in a big way. Washington is among the long list of teams expected to make a push for Nnamdi Asomugha -- the top cornerback on the market. Cincinnati's Johnathan Joseph, the Jets' Antonio Cromartie and Pittsburgh's Ike Taylor also are expected to be on the market. Washington drafted defensive end Jarvis Jenkins (second round, Clemson) and nose tackle Chris Neild (seventh round, West Virginia), but they still are expected to try to acquire veteran help at both positions. A person familiar with the situation said that there is mutual interest between Washington and end Cullen Jenkins, who recorded eight sacks last season for Green Bay and is now a free agent.

Otis... I thought I told you, yesterday... Bruce Allen and Nnadmi are fishing buddies... They've been seen all around town in bars and strip clubs... He's a Redskin to be.

They can have Jenkins, he's a knee jerk away from the disabled list...

I wish the Steelers would do something uncharacteristic and get Asomugha

If there hadn't been a lockout I'd say that Nnamdi probably could go anyplace but he loves the Bay Area and will be very happy in moving his locker across the bay to the 49ers instead of across country.

Or, he could go somewhere else and see what winning feels like.

"Hail to the Redskins!"!

I think the key thing here is, the Packers are not resigning Jenkins! and why?

it's that hope that helped me get through my super bowl grieving process....not sure ike taylor should be top anything

July 7, 2011  09:35 AM ET

I'm pretty sure they had this SAME exact post up yesterday but for another team.

July 7, 2011  09:37 AM ET

I doubt seriously Dallas signs Nnamdi, they'll probably opt for the cheaper version of Joseph in Cinncinnati.

July 7, 2011  09:39 AM ET

Asomugha won't be playing in Dallas because playing for Jerry will remind him too much of playing for Al. He's tired of losing so playing in Dallas would be no different for him.He might be better off staying in Oakland. The environment will be exactly the same, only with better weather in the East Bay.

July 7, 2011  09:42 AM ET

I can't really say this for Jenkins, but the 'Skins signing a high-profile FA like Asomugha...well...that's par for the course for Snyder.

and one day maybe he'll realize that it hasn't gotten them much. i mean, look at teams like pittsburgh and baltimore, etc. they build through the draft and don't mess w/ free agency THAT much at all.

He's got no chance of winning anything in Washington as long as the L'il General owns that team. If he wants a bloated payday they he'll consider it. But I'd think going to a good organization would be a little more important as he'd get more national exposure. Washington isn't even close to being the best NFL team in their home state.
