Outlook poor for Georgia Tech air attack

08:23 AM ET 07.08 | Georgia Tech may not be able to dig itself out of the 6-7 season it recorded last year on the strength of its receiving corps. Projected starters: Stephen Hill (Jr., 6-5, 206), Tyler Melton (Sr., 6-0, 206). Others to watch: Jeremy Moore is coming back from a season-ending knee injury sustained last summer. Daniel McKayhan is the only receiver on the roster besides Hill and Melton who has caught a pass at Tech, and he has three. Incoming freshman Corey Dennis is one of three who'll get a good look in fall camp. ... Outlook: Poor. It's probably the weakest position group on the team. The receivers have been putting in hard work over the summer, Hill in particular, and they need to do so. The chances of finding a Demaryius Thomas clone are not good, but this group has to improve from last season

If I remember correctly, their only air attack is the pitch off the option. Am I right GT?

Gee with that option offense they run I never would have guessed this.

They throw an occasional deep ball to try to keep the defense honest.

FN can't find a picture of the GT air attack ...

Os does the article mean those numbers are expected to drop drastically? If so they should just bring in former NFL coach Chuck Knox. Some may recall his offenses were called "Ground Chuck"

Good point. Hard to find good receivers willing to play for an option offense.

I still think they have a shot to win the ACC!!! Hell the ACC isn't going to be all that good this year, is it??? Damn these worms are crawling all over my computer screen!!! LOL.

GT offense it way too predictable. I was watching some game last year and could tell what the offense was going to do when they lined up, but that was only after drinking a few beers.

Two dive plays and Johnny B throwing to the longest route (still short of the first down) on 3rd down and long

A 6'5", 200lbs.+ receiver could be a good weapon (assuming he has decent hands), all jokes aside.

Funny how they bash the passing game but make no mention of the status of the pass-play O-line protection or QB and dump it all onto the WR corps. I know you gotta have hands out there to catch it, but gotta have an upright QB and an arm to throw it, too.

Nope, does not work, everyone knows what they will be doing.

With Thomas it worked. Now, not so much.

I can from two seasons ago. MSU made them look like the second coming of a Mike Leach offense that night. I can't remember the WR, but he lit my dawgs up like a Christmas tree that night.
