09:30 AM ET 07.10 | Steelers receiver and "Dancing With the Stars" champion Hines Ward apologized to his fans Saturday after his arrest in Georgia on a drunken driving charge but insisted he did nothing wrong. The Super Bowl XL MVP was booked into the DeKalb County jail outside of Atlanta at 3:41 a.m. and charged with driving under the influence, said DeKalb Sheriff's Sgt. Adrion Bell. Ward was released at 6:30 a.m. after posting $1,300 bond, Bell said. Andy Ree, Ward's business manager, issued a statement on Ward's behalf saying Ward was "deeply saddened by this incident." "From our preliminary investigation, we can tell you that we are confident that the facts show Hines was not impaired by alcohol while driving," Ree said.

At least he kept his pants on.

I've always admired Hines as a tough player, and hope this incident is untrue.

He shouldn't have been driving at that time of night/morning period!!! WTH dude, get your chauffeur to ferry your arse around; you made enough money that there should be some in the bank for that kind of thing!!! Get your homies to drive you if you're a little light in the wallet, lol!!!

Way to go Hines, thank you for making it that much easier for within a year or two, Tomlin has to sit your butt down and say, "We want Emmanuel Sanders and Antonio Brown on the field more to pair with Mike Wallace. Thank you for your commitment to two superbowl winning teams, but we do not need you anymore."

Going by what I've read so far, I believe his defense to this offense will be that he was simply texting and driving ... move along Mr. Policia, nothing to see here ...

Either they did a test or they didn't. No test, no conviction.

If they did a test, either he passed it or he didn't. If he passed it, no conviction.

If he failed it, though, some law firm has found a client with deep pockets.

If option 3, then he'll get a wrist slap and sent on his way. All the while lunchbox-toting 'everymen' in the same situation, lose their licenses, incur fines and fees upwards of 10K and in general, have their lives ruined.

Jose Baez is on his way to defend Hines.
