08:00 AM ET 07.11 | Larry Fitzgerald has gained additional attention in the Twin Cities for his local workouts, which has led to the inevitable question. Fitzergald, though, said he is not thinking about leaving Arizona. "I try to put it like this," he said. "I have one more year left on my deal, my job is to try to help the Arizona Cardinals win a championship and that's my focus. I would like to play there. I've enjoyed my seven years there. If they want to keep me they're going to have the first option to keep me." ... [Asked if he ever thinks about playing for the Vikings, Fitzgerald said:] "I'm good at just coming home and being able just to blend in and just being a regular guy. I kind of like that. So if it happened, it would obviously be a childhood dream come true, but if it doesn't then I won't lose any sleep over it."

Another week...

Another contribution from the Star Tribune...

Another bag of nothing.

Because going to Minnesota always works out for players.

Is Brett going to throw the ball to Fitzgerald next season if there is one?

July 11, 2011  08:22 AM ET

McNabb or Orton will most likely be the quarterback of the Vikes. That wouldn't be a bad combination for Fitz........

If Fitz thinks playing for the Vikings is "going home," that would imply he's from LA, right?

Absolutely, the connecting flight to LA from Arizona will definitely be through Minny.

Right now, playing for the Vikes has as much upside as does playing for the Cards.

With V Jack disgruntled, I think Phillip Rivers and Fitzy would be a pretty spicy connection.

The Patriots would love him, but they've already got one of the biggest payrolls in the league.

Belicheck knows you win in the NFL with 2 things ... Defense and a QB. Note there is nothing about WR in that statement.

The Star Tribune is the Twin cities bestest paper....To take a carp on!

Anyone who likes good writing here reads the St. Paul Pioneer Dispatch.

Larry Fitzgerald was just being nice. no one in there right mind wants to play for the Vikings.

I would bet that even A.P. is trying to figure out a way to bale on them.

July 11, 2011  09:39 AM ET

If Fitz plays for the Vikes, with no QB and no chance to rack up any numbers at all, he'll be treated like a regular guy in no time.

July 11, 2011  09:55 AM ET

Until I see an agreement between the players and owners, all stories dealing with football mean nada!

Please live up to your moniker and keep right on 'passing through' until you're outta here. Thank you.

No they don't, at $102 million, they have the 16th highest payroll and they've been in the middle of the pack the last few years, they're due to dole out some dough.

Y'know, I started looking to see some numbers, and the only thing I can conclude is that you can't get good numbers. I saw the Pats in the middle, but also down third from the bottom.

They've got some needs to address this year in free agency. Fitz is a free agent for the 2012 season, if the Cards don't franchise him.
