Rose didn't leave his house for nearly a week

08:10 AM ET 07.12 | Losing in the playoffs hit Derrick Rose especially hard. In the days after his Chicago Bulls lost to the Miami Heat in the Eastern Conference finals, [Rose] shut himself in his house and put the local pizza place on speed dial. For about a week, the NBA's Most Valuable Player rarely left home. "Being that close [to the NBA Finals], and not getting it, hurt," Rose told Yahoo! Sports. "I just stayed inside the whole time. I didn't go anywhere else. I wore pajamas, watched a lot of movies, drank Powerade and got delivery food. My body was just sore and wore out. Mentally, too. I'm just getting over it. ... I know my time will [come] soon. That's how I think about it. I guess you have to pay your dues."

It's amazing to think about it, isn't it? The fact that there are guys in the league that take things like winning for granted or just expect to be handed things? It's great to see that there are still guys who actually WANT to win. And not just because they think it adds to their legacy, but because they hate to lose.

D rose is not your average me first superstar...the kid just seems well grounded and humble

Losing to the ultimate loser in Lebron is a tough pill to swallow so I can understand why he went bonkers. Nonetheless the Bulls underachieved. They shouldn't have lost to that Miami team with weak interior defense. Makes me question Boozer and Noah's real worth. Hopefully they'll get another shot next year and if they fail the decision not to trade Melo for Boozer will start haunting.

Reminds me of another Chicago Bull who took winning to heart, and got his heart ripped out by the Pistons and etc. Ahhh, it's finally good to be a Bulls fan again, keep your mind in the game DRose, we will get you some help. That foreigner they drafted Nicola Mirotic is supposed to be really good but he's 3 years away, and Jimmy Butler is a great defensive lengthy toughnosed kid outta Marquette, but I REALLY WISH they would have traded up and snagged Brooks. Our SG's SUCK

DRose will need a month to lose all that fat he gained from 10-days of Pizzas.

On a serious note, there are is not a more likable guy in the NBA than him.

Kid wants to lead his hometown team to a title, hard not to root for a kid like that doesn't abandon his hometown for greener pastures. Rose will get his eventually, they just need a two guard and more interior depth.
