07:59 AM ET 07.13 | It isn't all positive momentum in lockout news. With collective bargaining agreement negotiations between NFL owners and players projected to last into next week, the Chicago Bears and St. Louis Rams are expected to move back the start of their training camps from July 22. As a result, the cancellation of the annual Hall of Fame game in Canton, Ohio, is looking more and more likely. The preseason encounter between the Bears and Rams is scheduled for Aug. 7, one day after the annual enshrinement ceremony. However, sources from the two teams are getting anxious about playing the game, particularly if they can't start camp on time. "The decision is probably going to be made for us," a coach from one of the teams said.

Yeah...

Might as well cancel the damn season.

No big loss from a fan's point of view, and same with most of the other pre-season games. A reasonable training camp and two pre-season games should be plenty to get everyone ready for the season. I know the teams (read owners) make money from the pre-season, but if some of it is lost and the regular season is saved, that's a win.

And the level of play we see... Like Andy Reid's chair... I'm crushed.

Good. For all the kiddies out there, this used to be a fun game, a Pro team would play a team of college All Stars. As Casey would say, ya could look it up.

Woopiedildow!

Time's running out....

Too young to have ever known that. That'd actually be nice to watch.

Dang, I'm even old enough to remember Casey.

Agree 100%...I don't think the fans are pushing for preseason games...especially when we have to pay the full ride for the tickets.

It is just hard to imagine that we can miss the hall of fame game and what it means to the players being inducted.

Being a RAMS fan I want to be able to see Les Ritcher's family and Marsh Faulk walking around the field while the game is being played.

July 13, 2011  10:57 AM ET

Hall of Shame.....the players and owners should put this game on for free......that means no pay for any player,

plus free admission to any fans who might be ashamed to attend.

July 13, 2011  11:37 AM ET

Screw the the game. The more important topic is the inductees.

July 13, 2011  11:45 AM ET

I loved the old NFL Champs vs. College All Stars games every year at Soldier Field. Except for 1963, when they beat my Packers 20-17 !

July 13, 2011  12:30 PM ET

They can replace it with the Hall of Shame Game, where the worst team from each conference gets to play while we remember all the bad boys who have been indicted.

I know the purposes of this comment are make fun of the lowly NFC West teams and to not necessarily be taken at face value, but I don't think that would even be possible. I remember thinking years ago how I thought USC could take out the Detroit Lions, but I think an NFL team would just be too overpowering for any college team to even give them a chance or some shred of hope.

Would like to see it all work out for MARSHALL, MARSHALL, MARSHALL! First of the Greatest Show in the Hall. Then Bradford and the Greatest Show 2.0 ready for takeoff. Let's get this done now !

It already is a Hall of Shame ... millionaires trying to hold billionaires hostage, billionaires trying to hold millionaires hostage, and the ones that suffer are the middle-class working stiffs who support these schmucks. Cancel the whole season. Let people like Haynesworth try flipping burgers for a year instead of eating them. Let Burress take his shooting skills where they can do some good: Afghanistan.
