08:08 AM ET 07.13 | A Tuesday report suggested the Reds were after Colorado's Ubaldo Jimenez, who after a rocky start may have righted his ship. Reds general manager Walt Jocketty, when asked by The Enquirer about Jimenez, replied with a text message: "We have not had specific or significant trade talks with anyone at this point. All discussion with other teams has been more general info gathering." Jocketty also said: "We are currently talking to several clubs, and trying to evaluate whether or not we will be able to improve our club. It is too early to determine that now." Right-hander Jimenez was 19-8 with a 2.88 ERA last year. This year, he is 4-8 with a 4.14 ERA but has a 2.52 ERA over his last eight starts.

I wouldn't want to see this happen......

I'd be happy to see this guy on the Tigers. As long as the price isn't too high.

The Rockies would once again become an "Ace-less" staff if they moved Jiminez.

Never say never....Rockies have a lot of holes to fill...just sayin

Why would the Rockies trade Jimenez? This is like the Yankees trading for Felix Hernandez. Not going to happen.

Because he's not nearly as good or consistent as King Felix. He's going to command Ace money when he hasn't really pitched like an ace outside of the first half of last year. Lastly, the Rockies aren't the Yanks or Sox. They just gave Tulo and CarGo $230 million. Can their market sustain 3 huge long-term contracts?

Don't worry, Jhoulys Chacin has already taken over as the ace of the Rockies. He' outpitched Jimenez in every pitching category this year.

If this were to happen (which I'm not expecting it to and nor should you), Yonder Alonso would definitely be in the package to Colorado to play 1B after Todd Helton retires.
