12:38 AM ET 07.14 | Boxer, actor and congressman Manny Pacquiao will try to further his political career by running as governor of Sarangani in 2013. The Sarangani representative will join forces and "swap" positions with the current governor of the province, Miguel Rene Dominguez, in the upcoming election, reported Bomboradyo, one of the largest radio stations in the Philippines. The 2013 election will mark the third time Pacquiao will run for office, the first of which was back in 2007 when he lost to Darlene Antonino-Custodio in the congressional race for the first district of South Cotabato. She currently serves General Santos City -- Pacquiao's hometown -- as mayor.

Paq might be a great fighter...but he is a moron who does not believe in birth control in what is more or less a third world nation....

umm...no actually...all of that DOES add up to Pac being a moron....an intelligent person would take in all of the info, rule out superstition(religious beliefs) and go with facts supported by evidence....

**yawns** this is a sports story how? Oh yeah, a sports figure is involved. Cool. I wonder when T&R will tell us about Haye's next bowel movement.

Anyone who would equate religous beliefs is a MORON.
Pacquiao is not a moron. His astonishing progress as a boxer in the past few years shows a great capacity for learning new things. That learning capacity is at least as important as his physical talents. Pacman may be uneducated, but a moron? No, definitely not.

As a politician and one of the leaders of a nation, he needs to look at the state of his people. If they are poverty stricken or on the verge, then he needs to look at solutions. If one of them is just saying its OK to use a rubber if you want to and that birth control is actually OK, then it could do volumes for his people's quality of life. I can only imagine what the AIDS numbers look like. I am sure Paq's god would rather have his people use a condom then having starving children or dying of AIDS related complications. To continue to hide the realities of this current age behind the magic man in the sky while your people are starving, having starving babies exponentially, and dying of preventable diseases... that is moronic.

Well said, Mayweather has been running his mouth since like forever. It's time for him to put up or shut up.

2 words "No Proof".
Point being: You are another in a long line of limited intelligence folks who are the sheep following after Mayweather and his daddy's lies. Before this fight was trying to be made Pac was never accused. You say that he jumped up from 106 (his debut weight when turning pro at the age of 16) to his present weight. He added less than 3lbs per year. Funny though, because when Mayweather was an amatuer fighter he ALSO weighed 106lbs @ 16 years old and now he is even bigger than Manny. So did Floyd take roids early in his career? Do you weight the same now that you did when you were 16? Or are you under 16?
Adding weight and power isn't an impossible feat naturally. It requires PROPER training.
