08:00 AM ET 07.14 | James Harrison didn't make many friends at NFL headquarters with a recent magazine article, but he was also harsh on some teammates, too -- including Ben Roethlisberger and "fumble machine" Rashard Mendenhall. At least two Steelers responded with comments on Twitter. Steelers safety Ryan Clark wrote: "He's just James! You know what you're getting" and "Nobody has to leave. We will all be in Pittsburgh. Brothers disagree, brothers fight, call each other names. You're still family! ALWAYS!" Mendenhall wrote: "I don't have a problem with what [Harrison] said because I know him." ... [Bill Parise], though, also noted that his client made some serious points about what Harrison thinks are the league's misguided attempts to increase safety.

classy, smart and professional response fellas.....i was hoping for it...

Rashard seems scared of James. Harrison is a jerk and better watch his back if there's a season this year.

July 14, 2011  08:05 AM ET

That's all good!

The only person he has to watch his back for.... is the person he called out in the first place (Goodell). This cat ain't scared, super big mouth.. but gl taming this beast. I'm glad he's in Pittsburgh.

I'm sure Harrison will be well adjusted when he's out of football. He's koo koo for Coco Puffs.

Harrison is a tool. When he opens his mouth it's a public service announcement for stupidity.

I hope Harrison wasn't planning to start the regular season with the rest of his teammates. Although I'm sure that the NFLPA would argue that because there's no CBA in place, Harrison can say what he wants about the commish with no fear of reprisal.

Steroids are a helluva drug.

Fear of reprisal? Should I be worried about all the bad things I've said about that doofus?

July 14, 2011  08:44 AM ET

I read the article, Harrison really doesn't like Goodell any more than a lot of posters on this site except he was fined $100,000.00 by the man. he is a competitor, remember his 100yd pick 6 in the Super Bowl? He expects more out of himself and his teammates and they know and understand it. No problems here.

He should only do interviews between cycles.

Nah... "doofus" is probably one of the nicer things he's been called lately.

July 14, 2011  08:49 AM ET

The comment on Mendenhall was unfair. He doesn't fumble that much and I'm sure Harrison was thinking about the superbowl. The comments about Ben, pretty much hit the nail on the head.

You never ever talk ish outside the locker room. Think it all you want but never bad mouth your team-mates to another person. Dude needs a old fashioned **** whippen.

Dang. I wouldn't want to be accused of toadying up to this scum-sucking, boy-fondling sack of dung. (Hey, everything I really want to call him is just going to be converted to asterisks.)
