09:39 AM ET 12.08 | The Redskins, whose play-calling and conservative philosophy while leading late in games has correlated directly with their propensity for blown halftime leads, were more aggressive Thursday with Todd Collins in the game. Several players commented that the offensive approach was drastically different than past weeks. Saunders, the offensive play-caller, has been Collins's biggest proponent for years despite his lack of substantial playing time.

go go go Collins !

December 8, 2007  10:20 AM ET

I'm going to sound pretty dumb, but what happened to Campbell?

December 8, 2007  10:30 AM ET

Redskins will lose their last three with this rust bucket at QB. Makes my weekly picks one game easier.

December 8, 2007  10:39 AM ET

"I'm going to sound pretty dumb, but what happened to Campbell?"

He went down in the game with a knee injury =(

December 8, 2007  11:42 AM ET

in other words....they have to 'dumb down' the offense for Campbell?

December 8, 2007  11:47 AM ET

Yea, really lit up the scoreboard. Saunders must go, and take Todd Collins with you.

December 8, 2007  12:45 PM ET

Redskins are going nowhere even if they back into the playoffs.

December 8, 2007  01:31 PM ET

They would be backing in with the grace of an 80 year old man in a Winnebago. Don't see it happening this year.

December 8, 2007  02:15 PM ET

Funny way to put that Mental Ray. Unfortunately, and this is my opinion, I think the near 80 year old man on the sidelines needs to go. Gibbs was great in his time. However, stay away from Jason Garrett next year!

December 8, 2007  02:57 PM ET

I was at Todd Collins first game as a Wolverine in 1991. Todd tied the Michigan all-time record for most TD's passing in a single game and Michigan won 61-7 over Houston and Klinger.

Jason C. was a wasted draft pick and all you Redskins fans back off Collins. Feel lucky you have him as a back up. Just think you could have Joey H.

December 8, 2007  04:34 PM ET

So why was Campbell the starter?

December 8, 2007  04:56 PM ET

Campbell is going to be a great QB, he has a lot of droped balls and I hate the redskins. go giants. Eli sucks to

December 8, 2007  06:37 PM ET

They are conservative with Campbell, it's his first year starting. Collins has been running the offense for more than 10 years. He knows what he's doing. Campbell isn't "dumb," he's young. There's nothing wrong with Al Saunders, Gibbs just wants to run the ball too damn much. His Kansas City teams put up huge numbers, we have better personnel then they do. Things will come around.

December 8, 2007  09:14 PM ET

"Jason C. was a wasted draft pick..."

Sure he was.

December 8, 2007  11:12 PM ET

As a die hard fan I have to admit having Collins as the starter for the rest of the year may not be a bad thing. Campbell has shown he has talent but the offense clearly was not good with him at QB. If we can somehow upset the Giants next week the playoffs may be possible. Minn is not a good team despite looking decent the past few weeks and Dallas will most likely be resting starters in the last game..

@DarrellGreen_28

Why was he a wasted pick? I thought he did pretty well for most of the games he played. As well as expected at least.

Colts and Wolverines #21ST is the one that thinks Campbell was wasted pick. I was just saying "Sure he was".. as in he will be just fine in the years to come.

December 9, 2007  04:58 PM ET

Campbell is a good qb and will be fine with more experience and Gibbs hasn't gotten stupid. The 'skins lose more games in Gibbs second tenure because they have too many lousy players. Thank Vinney Ceratto for that since he is in charge of player personnel and scouting. Washington is also still in salary cap hades thanks to Dan Snyder. Running the ball is fine when the have an offensive line of guys like Grimm, Jacoby, Schlereth, May, Bostic, Starke etc and runing backs like Riggins, Byner, Kelvin Bryant, George Rogers, Gerald Riggs..... But their current offensive line is awful and Portis ain't no Riggins.

December 10, 2007  03:59 PM ET

I agree with you for the most part DaMoFo. Ceratto blows chunks and Saunders needs to go back to Arrowhead where he is loved. At least Casserly is finally gone. I could have played better than Jason Campbell against the Bills and I am a girl. He couldn't find his as* with both hands and WE WERE AT HOME. Nice tribute to Sean Taylor.

I too think this may be a blessing in disguise with Collins leading us the last 3 games. If we can get by the Giants, then we definately have a chance. And as far as Gibbs, it has been nice, but time to hang it up and bring someone else in. Go Skins!
