Interest in Jimenez heating up for Rox

08:14 AM ET 07.15 | Though the Rockies may not be looking to move Ubaldo Jimenez, they are reportedly willing to listen of offers. And with the Rockies having failed to meet expectations in the first half, and pitching in a severe shortage in the major leagues, plenty of teams at least want to explore the possibilities with the Rockies and Jimenez. There were requests for 17 scouts tickets for the Rockies game against Milwaukee, in which Jimenez started, well above normal. Among teams with interest are Detroit, Atlanta, Cincinnati, the New York Yankees, Philadelphia, St. Louis, Chicago White Sox and Cleveland. Jimenez struggled at the start of the season, but finished the first half strong.

No way Philly has the ammunition to pull off a trade for this guy...I would love to see it happen!

Nonsense! The Rockies have Ubaldo tied up three more years at cheap money. Unless some team is willing to give away their farm system no what the Rocks trade him.
Note this T&R comes via Fox - more lies from Rupert.

I don't want to see him on the Phillies. We are good in the starting rotation. I would rather see Heath Bell come over to sure up our bullpen.

Glad to see the Indians are at least looking to buy and not sell so much this year as slim as the pickin's are.

Hmmm, the Phils trade for him 'cuz they don't think they can afford Hamels when he goes free agent?

Would love to see the Braves pick up Jiminez and move Minor and Lowe and a couple minor league prospects.
Rockies would be crazy not to move Jiminez while they can get value for him. He won't re-sign with Colorado because no good pitcher wants to spend his prime throwing at Coors Field.
Braves would have best rotation in baseball if they could pick up Jiminez to go with Jurrjens, Hanson, Hudson, and Beachy.

This would be a great match for either Texas or St. Louis. Both could use a quality starter to shore up an already tough rotation. Texas could give up Borbon and some of their many prospects and not really suffer, while St. Louis has a quality bat in Colby Rasmus... who would flourish in Colorado.

I don't see the Braves truly being on this list. The Braves have starting pitching up the wazoo. They have a great starting five, plus Kris Medlen coming back from Tommy John next year, and two very highly rated starters that just pitched in the Futures game. No, the Braves need a corner outfielder and probably one more reliable arm in the bullpen. That's really it.... besides Uggla getting on track.

They already have the best (or second best) rotation in baseball, plus Medlen (very effective last year until injury), Minor (#1 pick), Teheran (#1 or #2 pitching propect in MLB) and Vizcaino. They have starting pitching to trade. Besides, Jimenez is not exactly better this year than any of the above. He's a bit of a risk.

I heard one that involved the Mets and David Wright. Idk if the Rockies need a 3rd baseman, but with the emergence of Turner i guess it makes DWright expendable. (as long as they keep Jose)

I agree....if the Rocks took Rasmus for Jiminez, that would be a good match for both.
StL has Jon Jay who can replace Rasmus's production for the most part, while not losing a beat in the lineup and getting another good starter.
I would love to see the Cards next season with Wainright, Garcia and Jiminez...that would be a great starting 3.
Plus, StL will have more money next season after Carpenter is let go...at 16mil per, he is not worth the bucks any longer.

Phillies: If Oswalt turns out to be done for the season, then Amaro will consider Jimenez. RAJ has been quoted dozens of times saying that he's always looking to upgrade the pitching staff.

Yet he signed a contract to do just that. He'll be 31 when he hits free agency.
