NFL wideout: NASCAR drivers aren't athletes

With a name like Golden I would not have much to say about athletes.

Iv argued this topic to many times. Top notch athletes, try one of their workouts.

They may be in good shape, but I don't consider it to be a sport. Just my opinion.

Try driving for 3 to 4 hours and concentrating heavely on driving the car between 150 to 200 mph, plus pulling 2 to 5 g's...That takes and athlete, he will never know...

Throw in the unbelievably hot temperatures, and you have to be in incredible shape to do it. I can almost guarantee this "Golden" boy would wilt in no time. Then I guess that would make him something less than these guys who are not athletes.

Some of these football players really need to stay off Twitter. Really. They just show their lack of any education and common sense.

Consider his nickname 'shower'. Did he say golfers are athletes?

No point in explainin anythin to people who say Nascar not a sport. They usually aren't the type to listen and consider what you say, no matter how logical you are.
Just wonderin if they can sit in a hot steamin car for 4 hours then hop out quickly and do backflips and such, without any effort. And what about the pit crew. They have to maintain themselves even more.

I recall the year Jacques Villeneuve won the WDC in F1 and was declared Canada's athlete of the year.

Larry Walker who had just ditched the Expos to head to brazillions of $$ in Colorado was whining and snivelling about Jacques winning over him.

Being a Seahawks fan, I can only say to Mr 'Golden' Tate .... When you actually accomplish something, then you can talk your shit. Is this the same golden tate that only averaged 10 yards per catch last season with NO TDS!?!?! The same golden tate that had a total of 4 catches for 13 yds in the last 3 regular season games last year? The same golden tate that had a whopping 1 CATCH FOR 5 YARDS IN TWO PLAYOFF GAMES LAST YEAR!?!?

Just try going to your local kart race track and run a 25 lapper. First put on your long underwear and warm clothes before you put on your driver's suit, head sock and helmet. In 25 laps you'll be mentally and phsyically exhausted, not to mention overheated. Concentrating on your line in and out of each turn and other competitors too boot... and all this doesn't even come close to what a real racer endures, whether on the local short tracks or in NASCAR.

Considering WOs are the Prima Donnas of the NFL he should talk.

And, less we forget, drivers don't really get to take a break once the race starts, even yellow flags have a lot going on, they can't get out of the cars and get to cool off or unwind, unlike football where they only play half the game anyway, have TV timeouts every 10 min and a 20 min halftime where they can change uniforms, get help for injuries, etc. Stupid is as stupid does.
