10:39 AM ET 05.12 | Chris Drury's intangibles -- the fact that he has been a winner at just about every level in every sport -- will make him the object of a bidding war by as many as a dozen teams and could drive the price through the roof. It could give Drury the choice of where he wants to play -- in New York, for the team he cheered as a boy; on the West Coast, for any number of teams, including the Sharks, who believe they need his leadership and big-game ability to get over the hump.

Does this tell us anything whatsoever that we don't already know? Drury will be pursued by a bunch of teams...big deal. These speculations are pointless. He could wind up resigning with Buffalo; he could go to Colorado, where he won a Cup previously; the angles are numerous. Give us some inside scoop...if you have any, that is.

Does anyone know the NHL Salary cap rule? Is like baseball were you can go over but pay a penalty like the Yankees or is more rigid like the NFL? I was wondering because Buffalo's owner is Billionaire and I was wondering if he could keep Drury if he wanted to?

They can't go over the cap. It is a hard cap like the NFL. The problem is that there is not much revenue sharing so small market clubs tend to stay below the cap. Some owners will bite the bullet and lose money to build or keep a winner but I think it remains to be seen whether the guy in Buffalo will.

I started watching more Sabres games towards the end of the year, and I never quite understood the Chris Drury hype. I thought Briere was the more complete player.

Drury is more of a clutch player, he seems to do the right thing at the right time. Briere does more throughout the game. Both are great players and as a Sabres fan I would hate to see either leave but I think it is inevitable.

drury runs the show in buffalo wihtout him they wouldnt have been in the eastren finals as easily. he steps up every night wheather its abig hit, the goal, or the setup he does it night after ngiht. I think he should go to calgary. they cant afford him but could work it out.

I don't think Drury will go anywhere. He is such a good player so that Buffalo will not give him up. Also he would ask for so much that the salary would go over the cap. The Rangers and Sharks are not going to get Drury. The only team who would be able to get Drury would be the Oilers!!!!!
