Leach calls out 'high maintenance' James

09:56 AM ET 07.16 | Former Texas Tech head coach Mike Leach took some time to join Miami's WQAM with Big Dog and Joe Rose to talk the Bruce Feldman, Craig James, and the entire situation between James' son Adam when Leach was still at Texas Tech. "...I was gonna cut Adam after the bowl game and I think they knew that. After the bowl game it's a nice transition, he gets some nice experience, and then the next semester starts and then he is somewhere else or certainly not on the team... There's no question [Craig James] was doing things behind my back He was one of those guys that was ridiculously high maintenance and I had to deal with on a daily basis almost. So did some of my other coaches..."

Adam James is so high maintenance he should be a woman. Check with Adam James HS coaches at Celina. My understanding is they were more than happy when the kid graduated and left.

DC, most HS coaches are probably happy when some of their kids graduate!! Sounds to me that, Adam was a problem before he came to TT and shouldn't have been on the team from the start.

Nope. Live very close to Lubbock...have very reliable working sources in the athletic and football departments at TT. From what they say, the James clan was actually worse than what Leach is portraying and others have said. All boiled down to two things simply put..."entitled to special privileges due to who they are" and "who do you think you are telling my kid what to do?"
