08:13 AM ET 07.20 | Out since May 10, Ike Davis may have played his last game in 2011. [Davis] said he "hasn't thrown in the towel" about returning to the Mets this season, but admitted again Tuesday he might not play again until 2012. "If in three weeks I'm not healthy, I'm not gonna play the rest of the year," Davis said before the game against the Cardinals at Citi Field. ... "I'm not gonna tell you I'm gonna play this season because I've told you like 16 times this year [that I will] and it hasn't happened," said Davis, out since May 10. "Give it three weeks and we'll see, either 'yes' or 'no.'" Davis jogged on a treadmill Tuesday and said he felt good, but the good days are often followed by bad ones. Terry Collins, when told of Davis' comments, said, "I'm surprised he would say something like that."

The kid's frustrated. No surprise that's he's feeling like his season is over. He's got a rather strange injury.

Sure... in the coke/steroid era, they won a championship. Maybe that's been the missing ingredient all along.

best thing to do its to stay injuried, perhaps the GM plans are to throw ike davis on the mix for trade offers!!

What Terry was really saying is:

"You can tell just by looking at him that the light ain't on... But I thought even he was Smarter than to tell you people something like that"

Ankle injuries are tough to deal with. It's frustrating as hell not knowing if tomorrow's going to be like today with it...

Damn...I actually feel bad for a freakin' Met...

July 20, 2011  08:13 PM ET

He sure does keep his hands low. No one has hit well with having hands at your waist since Stan Musial...

A lot of guys in that area were roiding. Nails comes back from a summer of serious weight training and gained 30 pounds of muscle and no one in the media questioned it. Yeah, as if anyone can put on 30 lbs of muscle in one summer naturally, LOL!
