Kahn, Carlisle first to earn NBA fines?

08:09 AM ET 07.21 | Many wondered where the line was ... a Wednesday tweet suggests David Kahn may have crossed it. It's about time. Yahoo! Sports reports that the NBA has levied fines to two teams for violating the league's gag order, which states that team executives are not to have any contact with, or make public reference to, any current NBA players without pre-approval from the league office. "The NBA's fined two undisclosed teams for speaking on players in media during lockout, a league source says. Kahn's a good bet as one of them." [Kahn] was indeed the most obvious violator of the league's gag order. ... Another possible recipient of a fine is Dallas Mavericks coach Rick Carlisle, who conducted a radio interview in Portland, Oregon, and made reference to multiple members of the Trail Blazers before cutting the interview short, apparently by someone reminding him of the gag order.

That's a stupid fine when it's so minor. If it's done w/ intentions then it might be okay to fine them. If they accidentally blurted it out then they just need to give them a warning.

The NBA .... Lord Stern lay down the RULES before the draft ....

IF a Lockout ... Teams Can say Nothing, Know Nothing, on Players ....

NO talking about, NO contact with Players, draft picks, agents, .... seems simple ...

DDDDDdoooooooooooccccc!!!!

What up, bro?

I DO beg to differ with you about one thing...when the Wolves had The Big Ticket, and they had Latrell and a couple other solid players, they made a little noise (or at least had the potential to make some noise) in the playoffs. Granted, they didn't make it out of the first round, but they were a tough team to play. Now, with basically nobody but KLove and a handfull of also-rans, NOW they do SUCK and will continue to SUCK until they start bringing in legitimate talent both on the court AND on the bench.

As for Carlisle...well, he might be a basketball genius, but he's never impressed me as having a lot of common sense. So it figures he'd try to find some way to get around a gag order...standard.
