08:27 AM ET 07.22 | ... And we now turn our attention to the bizarre, as the Stanley Cup may have added another odd chapter to its history. Some pictures don't require any explanation. This one has veteran NHL defenceman Tomas Kaberle, wielding a sword and shield, flanked by middle-aged men in pink Hello Piggy overalls and... is that guy holding a keytar? Okay, some explanation may be needed. This scene is from Kaberle's day with the Stanley Cup in his hometown of Kladno, Czech Republic, yesterday and the photo comes by way of Czech publication iSport.cz.

Some pictures don't require an explanation? What picture??

July 22, 2011  08:41 AM ET

I really don't need to see the picture. The description is enough (too much?).

July 22, 2011  08:47 AM ET

Agree with you there. From the description I don't think I really want to see it.

Might explain a lot about Kaberle though.

nice that the guy got to jump from the leafs to the eventual champs, while contributing almost nothing to their success....nice to know he gets his day with the cup. I feel all warm & fuzzy inside.

I would like to see this photo though

Just click on Globe and mail at the end of the story.

You've got this, and then you've got Chara who's rented a castle for his day. You kinda see the disparity between the two with that.

Not that there's anything wrong with that....

And people thought Draper's kid crapping in the Cup was bad.

Very true. Last night I saw a guy biking down the street wearing blue Christmas lights. Even Kabby didn't do that.

Probably Joey Crabb celebrating another year of employment. :-)

This is why winnning the Stanley Cup is the best championship in sports. I can't imagine the Lombardi trophy going on tour.

And, Chara's idea is brilliant. Can you see him sitting in the main room in the castle in some big chair with the Cup and a huge party going on? The possibilities are fun to consider.
