10:02 AM ET 07.24 | If there's one person who knows what replacing Steve Williams on the bag will entail for Tiger Woods, it's Greg Norman, who employed the caddie for more than a full decade earlier in his career. "[He] was a great kid to groom -- very assertive, very confidential in respect to the boss," Norman told GolfChannel.com. "To me, he was the vital hub to a lot of my success and the same for Tiger." While Norman sees many potential candidates to take over as Woods' next caddie, there's one name in particular he believes the player should seek. "I can think of one in Tony Navarro," he contended. "I would like to think Tiger would take advantage of one of the best caddies in the game. As good as Steve was for me, Tony Navarro was far better as far as being a professional caddie. I think Tony would be wonderful for Tiger; he would push him just a little bit and get the confidence going again."

Tiger could get God himself to caddy for him and it won't change a thing.

He's done & he knows it.

Agreed. Part of Woods' problem is that he never had anyone with enough stones to tell him "no". No matter how good a bagman Navarro is, he won't last past the first time he has to disagree with Woods.

I think Tiger can fix his game if he gets his life together, He will win again. I think that the record for Majors is just about safe from him. But he will win a few more minor tourneys along the way.

Rachel Uchitel comes to mind......Jenna Jamison....Bree Olsen....the local waitress at the Waffle House ? Anyone who can take a club to Tiger's balls when he gets out of line. This change in tactics
by going w/ a female caddy might just give his MOJO the jolt it needs.

I know...I know..this will never happen but just image in nobody wanted to caddie for Tiger and he'd have to carry his own bags....lol

Wow, that's gotta hurt.

People need to quit the Tiger-bashing. I don't believe he broke any laws, and the penalties he's paid in terms of dollars and public humiliation are far more than he ever deserved for his infidelities. As far as a new caddy goes, any of y'all that have spent the past few years bashing him would take the job in a heartbeat!!!

Elin Nordegren knows what club to use.

Good one !

The ultimate voice of instability reaches out to a progressively degenerating Tiger.

Really? Why would anyone want to caddy for for a liar? You may not believe it but I don't wish Eldrick any bad luck. He's worked hard enough to do that to himself. IMO if he comes back plays well and wins...that's fine. if he doesn't.....I don't care. In any event I've made my last comment, ever, on any thread involving him.

That is for damn sure.

Tiger has learned how to lose. If he can't remember how to win, he's done. If his body can stand the gaff, it's all between his ears.

July 25, 2011  06:11 AM ET

Navarro won't hook up with Tiger at this point. No-one knows when he'll return or how well he'll plays when he does. Navarro can find a better bag to carry with a lot less baggage in it.

Agreed and Norman should have known better than to judge caddies relative to Woods.

Woods has permanently damaged his left knee and even if he had an eight million dollar replacement and took five years off for it to heal, his swing is not going to be what it was. The fact is that for the last four years he hasn't been able to get out of the tee box and that is directly related to his left knee. He's done and we and the media should move on.

Tiger will win at least 4-5 more majors....just wait.....

July 25, 2011  03:27 PM ET

Tiger should embrace the situation and have his orthopedic surgeon caddy for him!

I would like to see that but the only way its going to happen is if he can get healthy for a least 6 years.

Who would have thought we'd have John Daly finish in the top 10 before Woods played another round? Much as I like Daly, I certainly would have bet against that happening...

July 25, 2011  06:25 PM ET

I don't know if I'd really want advice from Greg Norman when it comes to relationships. Now if I wanted to know how to choke away the Masters, he'd be my guy.
