05:26 AM ET 07.25 | The Mets' strong preference is to move Carlos Beltran to another team several days before next Sunday's trade deadline, but the garage sale likely will stop there. According to a person with direct knowledge of the team's thinking, it is "unlikely" that players other than Beltran will be traded, and there is "no activity on any other player at the moment."

It depends how the financial part of the Ponzi scheme owners shakes out. The Mets and Dodgers are an absolute mess right now.

either lee was injuried during the game against the padres, or the padres were told that the had to be very disciplined against this lefty, cliff lee allow five runs and pitch count of 82 in only four innings, i always have observe this pitcher and most of the times he will mix his pitch selection but at the same time he will throw many balls but the hitters have that tendency to swing all those balls unstead swing at the right pitch the hitters ending being a strike out victim, do the hitters ever have that thought about using the discipline at the plate?

I doubt any team is going to fulfill the Mets dream and trade young talent for a 1/3 season rental of Beltran. There are plenty of teams that would take him, but only for a low price.

They want Domonic Brown a five-tool player and the Phillies OF future for a guy that will be a free agent looking for big cash next year, you can take their name out of the running my friend.

Being in a porno and taking care of 5 tools at once doesn't make this guy a 5 tool player

The Mets are dead men walking this season and I think Sandy Alderson knows it, but if he tries to play the role of extortionist he will wind up with a bag of air. He doesn't have to trade Carlos Beltran but what good is he to them now? They aren't going anywhere this season, and Carlos is out the door in October. Trade him to a NL team for a decent prospect and a lower rated one and be done with it. In fact, keep him in the NL. He already has said he'd rather stay there and in our league the pressure is sky high for someone who would rather be elsewhere.
