08:43 AM ET 07.26 | Seems Gary Bettman, despite the boos you hear at NHL events, is doing pretty well in the eyes of the league. [Bettman's] total compensation increased 4 percent during the 2009-10 season, pushing his salary plus benefits to $7.5 million for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2010, according to the league's most recent tax filing. For 2009-10, Bettman's base salary was $5,787,524, other compensation $826,369, deferred compensation $877,597, and benefits $25,988. ... The increase represents three years of pay raises for Bettman, whose salary is still a fraction of the salaries of MLB Commissioner Bud Selig ($18.35 million) and NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell ($10.9 million).

ESPN sucks at hockey, btw.

In his eyes, 8 million isn't even a fraction of what he should be earning...after all, he brought hockey to Phoenix (well...Glenndale), Atlanta, Florida...

I don't know how you could live on that? Not well anyway. Probably lives next door to the Trailer Park Boys in the off-season.. Have to drink domestic wine, eat day-old bread, government cheese, rent used movies. Everybody needs to **** up.

Just looking at his ugly mug, I get the feeling that the Buttman likes cross-dressing with his escorts.

I'm trying to figure out how to use chunder with "asunder". Someone with better language skills could probably come up with something clever.

July 26, 2011  11:06 AM ET

Why don't the owners and the league give him stock options in the Phoenix Coyotes instead of a raise. That would be funny!

The sight of him would make one chunder - So much so, as to risk the rending of one's very gut asunder.

Says who? You gotta hand it to the Yotes, they are trying their darndest to stay, compared to other teams that packed up and left.
