Cards chasing four QB options

08:02 AM ET 07.27 | Like most franchises, Arizona hit the ground in scramble mode. [The Cardinals] had to multi-task, starting negotiations with free agents, greeting returning players while also trying to find a new starting quarterback. "I think the best way to say it is whatever you can imagine, it's probably worse than that," coach Ken Whisenhunt said of the frenzied activity in the team's front office. "There is multi-tasking at its most furious." The most important task is finding a quarterback, and the Cardinals spent the day pursuing four options. Cardinals officials had trade discussions with the Eagles for Kevin Kolb and with the Broncos for Kyle Orton. They also expressed interest in signing former Seahawks quarterback Matt Hasselbeck and Ravens quarterback Marc Bulger.

More I read... more it is clear that Orton may be the real QB everyone wants.

As well he should be. The weird thing is that Denver should want him, too.

At 3 AM this morning, a Klingon Bird of Prey briefly de-cloaked at Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport, took on a few passengers, and departed for Hattiesburg.....

The guy never kills you. He isn't going to set any passing records but he makes good decisions and takes care of the ball. Denver is going to lean on the "Choosen One"? I see a slower Michael Vick.

Kevin Kolb will hopeful go to the Cards I would love to see this guy get his chance.

It's pretty sad when teams are fighting over Kolb, Orten, Hasselbeck, and Bulger, like they are Brady, Manning, Ben, or Brees

July 27, 2011  08:51 AM ET

What does Denver have that Arizona would want besides draft picks? I can't think of a damn thing.

July 27, 2011  08:52 AM ET

Err reverse that... Arizona have that Denver would want.

Man, Orton is very serviceable.. he's very capable of giving you 300 passing yards in a game and taking care of the ball. People knock this guy but I like him.

I would love to just stop the almost daily Kolb-to-Arizona threads.

Yeah, give him a chance. Watch the era of mediocrity return to the Cardinals.

Truth!

I may be wrong, but speaking of Orton, didn't Chicago give 2 FIRST ROUND draft picks and Orton for Jay Cutler???????????!!!!!!!!! I wonder if Chicago would like their qb back and picks back.
