Beavers enter '11 with chip on shoulder

08:16 AM ET 07.28 | Oregon State returns numbers, but did lose some high-end talent in the form of Jacquizz Rodgers, Stephen Paea, Gabe Miller and Alex Linnenkohl. There are rehabilitation issues with injured players, a difficult schedule and holes to fill all through the lineup and even a new conference alignment. Nobody is picking Oregon State, which opens training camp on Aug. 8, to win the North Division of the new Pac-12. But junior quarterback Ryan Katz says the OSU players will carry a "chip on their shoulder" into the season that begins Sept. 3 against Sacramento State. ... The Beavers will go into 2011 with reconstructed lines on both sides of the ball, no proven commodity at tailback and a true freshman kicker in Trevor Romaine.

Well, Davis is gone from North Carolina, that sure is some of the worst timing I have ever seen on firing a HC, he should have been gone, but long before this. Maybe they will pick up Leach, so maybe the timing will not hurt them if they do that.

There must be lots more we don't know about. The timing is unbelievable.

They waited to long... After all that stuff came out last year he shud have been let go.. If they dont go after Leach or Charlie Strong next year, they dont want to win.. But then again they will prob get hammered w/ sanctions coming down..

Yep....as everyone has already said, the timing is just way to weird. Must have found something else....

That chip is likely to get knocked off on a regular basis.

Yeah, pretty hard to compete with Oregon, Stanford and USC on a regular basis.

so what are you hearing about your AD turning down the UTK job. I had never even heard his name mentioned until yesterday and word on the street is that it was a leverage thing for him to get more money at LUS.

It may be sour grapes but KTowner's are talking like he was never seriously in play anyway. So who knows...
