La Russa to manage White Sox in 2012?

07:55 AM ET 07.29 | Tony La Russa has made an offseason habit of keeping Cardinals fans guessing, and perhaps the time is nearing that he walks. By trading the occasionally electrifying Colby Rasmus in a short-sighted move that brought them Edwin Jackson, [the Cardinals] have turned up the volume on an already pressurized situation. And they may have quietly telegraphed the end of the Tony La Russa era in St. Louis. La Russa's close friendship with White Sox Chairman Jerry Reinsdorf long has suggested they will work together again in the future. The Sox's curious handling of the Jackson trade suggests this reunion could begin in 2012, assuming Ozzie Guillen gets money-whipped to jump to the Marlins after this season.

Honestly, I can't imagine TLR leaving the Cards.

This rumor is a retread, a bad one too. We already had this chump as a manager.

This is a repeat, and no he won't!!! If he was going to come to Chicago, why on earth would he want to hang on the wrong side of town??? Come to the North Tony, and have a drink on me ;)

That pic kind of creeps me out ... he looks like he's stalking me, every time I look up ... I feel violated somehow ...

Yeah telsonx, I'm sure he'd want to manage the Cubs.

Hey CSF2...I like this chump - he wins - at least for us he has.... Not all him I know - Duncan is a pig part of that... You have to surround yourself with quality personnel as a manager......

Seems like there are plenty of Cardinals fans that have had enough of this guy.

Writers can be very short sighted sometimes. If a player or manager was on your team for some reason you feel they always want to come back but that rarely happens unless the name is Billy Martin.

Good morning friend. After the way he left town the first time, I seriously doubt it. I also don't think Guillen is going anywhere. Funny they traded Jackson now, we are 3 games out of first place, the closest we've been since April.

Somehow - StL ended up with two relievers for Rasmus - I like the overall trade(s) that netted the bullpen pitching help.

I like how Toronto ended up with Mark Teahen.

Is he any good defensively????? O numbers don't look good.

He is an average at best player. Otherwise, no, he lacks most skills people look for in a baseball player.

This is a real headline on msnbc.com:

"Murdoch's cream-pie assailant pleads guilty."
