Time to recalculate expectations at UNC

07:59 AM ET 07.29 | UNC was swinging for the fences when it hired Butch Davis. [Davis] was an all-in venture to pursue national championships and top-dollar bowl games. The school hadn't attempted such an aggressive football move since Jim Tatum was lured away from Maryland after the 1955 season. Instead of hitting it big in football with Davis, the school wound buying big, ugly trouble. There's a chance the school's appetite for football glory will be dulled to some extent as a result of the Davis experience. ... The prudent move might to be talk more about winning an ACC championship and talk less about trying to win national titles.

Hiring assistant coaches that are not on the payroll of an NFL agent is always a good start...

LOL "All-In".

Yeah let's blame it all on Davis and let John Blake slip away into the night. I'll bet the boosters are real happy Davis is getting the blame too. Now they can turn their focus back to negotiating with agents for basketball players.

I casn't figure that one either, why did they not at least try to get him????

Kid was a known one-and-done player with a knack for getting into trouble.
UNC wants "character" guys, and they want them on the payroll for at least 2 years.

With a much-delayed timetable, though, and IMO that shows that the dipchitz at the top are just that, dipchitz.

I'll tell you why... look at the year Kentucky had him. Lost in the NCAA. Enough said. One and dones won't win you the NCAA but will get you a nice recruiting championship and a few wins.
