08:27 AM ET 07.31 | Executives with other teams are puzzled by the Reds' unwillingness to deal catcher Ramon Hernandez, who has been at the top of the Giants' wish list since the Carlos Beltran trade. He's a free agent after the season and prospect Devin Mesoraco is ready to replace him in a tandem with backup Ryan Hanigan, who also has been the subject of some trade inquiries.

Hernandez would be a good pickup for the Giants. Not sure who we'd give up to get him, but I sure hope it wouldn't be too much for an average catcher who will be gone after the season.

Sounds like it will be a non-event though anyways, as the Reds are silly enough to believe they can make the postseason.

Yeah, who are these Reds anyway? Don't they know that the Giants are the center of the universe? <jams index finger down my throat>

Good offensive production outta of the #2 position but I don't see much more than that.

In that division, it is a possibility that the Reds are still in it. I wouldn't trade him either.

Is Mike Brown running the Reds too?

It was Aug 10 last year when the Reds really got on fire. It was right after Molina started that brawl in Cincy. After that, the Cards went in the tank.

Agreed, there's only 70+ games left in the season, they should just quit now while they're only 6 back... /sarcasm.

Calm down. The Giants won their 1st world series in what? 50 years? You benefit from playing in the worst division in ALL OF PRO SPORTS. Lets not talk like the Giants are an elite team because they're not. Even if they had Posey, it wouldn't make a difference. When the Arizona Diamondbacks are your biggest threat, YOU'RE DIVISION IS VERY VERY BAD.

And yet, they're the reigning champions. When is the last time the Vikings in your avatar won anything?
