08:03 AM ET 08.01 | Only last week there was talk about the juice Jason Garrett enjoyed going into 2011, and now he's downplaying the words of Jerry Jones. [Jones] likes what he sees in rookie kicker Dan Bailey, so much so that he talked Saturday about possibly keeping two kickers on the roster. "If we need to," Jones said, "I'm prepared to have a kickoff man and a kicker." Bailey entered Sunday having gone a perfect 15-for-15 on his field goal attempts in camp. Last year's kicker, David Buehler, is 11 of 15 after missing Saturday from 34 yards. [Garrett] was asked Sunday if keeping two kickers is a scenario he has entertained. His answer was quite different than what Jones said. "I just think that's premature," Garrett said.

You know, I'm a diehard steelers fan.. and I'm still pissed off over 1995... but what can I say? Jerry eases that pain more and more every day the more he opens his mouth. :P lol

This is not a bad idea, but you have to wish one kicker could handle both duties.

Sounds to me like the media is just trying to sell something when they really don't have a story. Get back to me when something really happens. This one is pretty lame.

No doubt - but 1995 did very little to overcome the pain of what you guys did to us in the 70's, for what it's worth...

With all that's going on with the Cowboys' roster, the best they can come up with is a kicker story?

August 1, 2011  08:52 AM ET

2 Kickers on the roster. This is why Jerry Jones considers himself a genius. Emphasis on "Himself".

"A Legend in his own Mind"...

You can have a dozen kickers on the roster, but if your quarterback can't get the snap down, you ain't gettin' those 3 points.

Ain't for at least a couple of seasons. Jimmy left on his own. He was tired of The Meddler.

Cut that slacker Ware and that loser Whitten and get a short and a long guy for FGs and a kickoff specialist. Oh, and a punter for squib kicks and one for boomers.
