08:13 AM ET 08.01 | With the Giants' cupboard of options looking bare at shortstop, they acquired Orlando Cabrera from Cleveland. Freddy Sanchez is expected to undergo season-ending right shoulder surgery soon, Miguel Tejada's return from the disabled list is iffy, Mike Fontenot needed a single off an infielder's glove to break an 0-for-22 streak, and rookie Brandon Crawford was hitting .190. ... Tejada was not a happy camper. Asked for a reaction to the Giants' acquisition of another right-handed hitting shortstop, Tejada snapped his displeasure not at the team but at the media for writing that he lacks the range to play shortstop. "People forget I've done too much in this game," said Tejada, who is on the disabled list with an abdominal strain.

"I've done too much in this game."

Like lie about your age?

August 1, 2011  08:33 AM ET

You haven't been relevant in years.

Robin Yount used to have a lot of range, too, Miguel...about 30 years ago, just like YOU!!!

Oh yeah, of course. Playing on a team with both Giambi brothers and hitting like he did? There's no doubt in my mind.

Um and what is to much in this game?

Too much whining?

Miguel forgets that he sucks and the only reason he has a starting job is because there's a powerless offense in a worthless division that needed him. Fortunatley for him, the Giants have acquired a guy who also sucks, but just slightly less than Tejeda to remind him.

Hey man, I'm hitting like .242! I've only missed about 30 games due to injuries! My OPS is an incredible .609 !!! I've smacked FOUR home runs and driven in 26 !!

And on top of all of that, I have below average fielding range!

We don't need no stinkin' second shortstop!

Hey, I've got 4 HOME RUNS & 26 RBI !!! I should get a contract extension!!!

August 1, 2011  12:15 PM ET

Sounds just like Brandon (They're pitching to me like Babe Ruth) Inge!

August 1, 2011  12:22 PM ET

Cabrera is also hitting .242 with 4 home runs. And his OPS is just .593. His advanced fielding stats are also below average.

The Giants were't satisfied with one Tejada, so they went out and found his twin!

August 1, 2011  01:44 PM ET

Cabrera has better range than Tejada, can hit better than he can & runs the bases better. Giants bringing in some competition for Tejada is a good thing.

delayed roid rage?

August 1, 2011  01:54 PM ET

tejada needs to take care of his body, being an injury-prone it doesn't help him at all, maybe he would say that the age or the weight its the problem but at the end he has nothing positive to offer to the team!!

"People forget I've done too much [steroids] in this game,"

hope that clears this up a bit

August 1, 2011  04:32 PM ET

of course we've forgotten. he hasn't done anything in years.
