08:20 AM ET 08.01 | One might think two of the better players in California would know each other, especially if those players grew up on the same street. Via Encaro in Rancho Santa Margarita, Calif., has to be the most prolific hockey playing cul-de-sac in the Golden State. Just two houses into the street rests the family home of Predators defenseman Jonathon Blum. Drive slightly farther and you'll see the residence of Chase Balisy, a sixth-round round pick of the Predators in the NHL Draft this year. "It definitely is pretty weird," said Balisy, a forward. ... It's a strange and rare connection between the two, who claim to not know each other very well. "I moved there when I was 10. The first couple of years, I didn't even know someone else played hockey on that street," Balisy said.

First we learn that the UAE has rinks and 500+ hockey players and now this? The Buttgoblin will start believing his expansion plans south have begun to bear fruits. We may get a franchise here yet!

QUOTE(#2):

Is it just me or does that photo of Blum look like he stole Zdeno Chara's stick?

Maybe the guy has issues with the length of his other stick.

I'll bet they never heard of two hockey players growing up on the same street in any town in Canada. I mean what are the odds?

Wow! Two guys playing hockey on the same street! Who can possibly beat that?

"It definitely is pretty weird," said Balisy He later went on to talk about how Blum's parents gave out apples for Halloween and that they drove a 1993 Ford Taurus.
