Moss will be back

08:01 AM ET 08.02 | Perhaps because the Patriots and Jets passed, Randy Moss announced his retirement Monday. The problem is that Moss is no longer the guy who can toss napalm around a locker room and still play on Sunday. His talent doesn't outweigh the drama anymore. ... This offseason, agent Joel Segal tried to spread the gospel that Moss was working out harder than ever to prove he still had plenty left in the tank. Yet, less than a week into free agency, Moss "has weighed his options and considered the offers and has decided to retire," as Segal said Monday. Sure, and I have weighed my options and decided that I should be in People's 50 Most Beautiful this year. In three weeks, when Moss gets bored and annoyed that nobody is all that broken up about his retirement, he'll return.

COME TO REDSKIN NATION, RANDY!! DannyBoy will make it right!!

He may have closed the doors to any possible return. Similar situation to what happened with Marvin Harrison a few years ago. Nobody wanted him for the price he was asking, and he wouldn't play for the price they were offering. I don't see Moss coming back.

Well, he must still have something in the tank - he's so fast they can't even get a picture of him.

August 2, 2011  08:11 AM ET

Completely agree with that statement. There will be a press conference and he'll announce his return to football with more drama and pomp than ever - just in time to miss training camp.

Now that we've dealt with one bozo, what's going on with TO?

He still thinks he is what he was 5 years ago.

He's not.

Randy, you've been replaced by Ocho in the hearts and minds of Patriot Nation. How does that make you feel?

They could dig up the one of him in a Minnesota uniform with some old guy throwing him the ball.

Maybe... he still needs to get a few retirements under his belt.

You don't have to burn bridges in Minnesota. They fall down all by themselves.

August 2, 2011  08:44 AM ET

He can come to Cleveland or the Giants

Moss is done anyway. He can't get deep anymore, and is strictly a possession receiver. Oh yeah, and he HATES working for a living. Guy is lazier than a snake in a refrigerator.
