08:24 AM ET 08.04 | The spotlight in Chicago's training camp may shine brightest on the challenge to back up Corey Crawford. After signing Alexander Salak -- whom they acquired from the Panthers in a trade for Jack Skille last season -- to a two-year contract in May, the Hawks have invited veteran Ray Emery to camp on a tryout basis. Emery, 28, missed the bulk of last season with a hip injury but recovered in time to help lead the Ducks to the postseason after starter Jonas Hiller was sidelined. "We figure it's a good opportunity to see how (Emery) stacks up against Salak," general manager Stan Bowman said Wednesday. ... "He certainly has the ability. It's going to make for good competition."
