11:26 AM ET 08.04 | The same thing happened in the fall of 2005 when the Daily News reported that the Yankees superstar was frequenting Big Apple card dens. The Bombers brass and MLB honchos huffed and puffed -- "No one admonished him," one source said at the time, "but he was made aware that this could put him in an unflattering light or look bad in the media" -- but they ultimately found no grounds for discipline.

I guess if the government can now go after little girls selling lemonade in their front yard then they can and will go after guys playing some poker.

Who cares, let him play cards. How is it company's think they have the right to control personal lives? and why do journalist get off reporting negatives about players?

Evidently MLB cares, and they make the rules. All players sign contracts that stipulate those rules must be followed. Even Arod.

Wow...did you just crawl out from under a rock? (see Geico commercial). Go ahead and violate your company's policies and see how long you are employed.

Yep, just woke up. It was a nice looooooong nap, and bam, here I am. . So personal attack is how you get your points across? See how far you rise in your company.

I understand policy and rules. Just tired of policy and rules stretching beyond there realm of personal rights. Don't wear your uniform after hours as it may give a wrong impression upon the company. Was he wearing his pin stripes? haha.

If he did illegal actions, then he will have to pay the price. My problem is with the "narcs" who are out to make a name for themselves and writing stories about people trying to get them in trouble. Hope the facts are correct, if not, then there needs to start being some libel suits started to calm these journalists who run with a story regardless the validity of the source.
