08:04 AM ET 08.05 | The story, not likely the man, rises again. Brett Favre is not coming to the Dolphins. OK? Despite Internet rumors fueled by innuendo from journalist twitter accounts, the Dolphins have no intention of signing Brett Favre, a highly placed team source is telling me. Chad Henne is the team's starting quarterback today. Period. Move along. Nothing to see here. Oh, I assume some of you will counter with the fact coach Tony Sparano declined to rule out the possibility today during his press conference. ... Look, the Dolphins won't rule out re-signing Dan Marino. They won't rule out trying to trade for the rights to Joe Namath. They have yet to confirm that they will open the regular-season in September.

When the hometown crowd is booing the starting QB .... Anything is possible.... except..

August 5, 2011  08:17 AM ET

Miami? Damn, I hope he has unlimited texting.

August 5, 2011  08:17 AM ET

Maybe if we put a stake in his heart and sprinkle him with holy water he'll just go away!

I doubt it.

August 5, 2011  08:18 AM ET

Makes so little sense. Why not really find a qb and develop him. Bring in this guy and what...still finish no better than 3rd.

They have been trying that...

Doesn't seem to be working.

August 5, 2011  08:21 AM ET

Leave this guy alone, he is retired.

Favre is done.

And if you need the 2011-edition Favre to generate excitement about your team, that's not good

You mean the guy throwing the ball, or the guy catching it? He's in the same boat. (Little Viking humor, there.)

If Deanna lets him leave the house for anything, I doubt she'd let him go to Miami.

I don't think he gets past the front yard without permission and a GPS ankle bracelet.

Amen, to that.

Very true, but is he going to get them to the playoffs? In that division? NO CHANCE.

it's known of his fondness for women from FL. I bet he leaves home without 'em. LOL!

And it starts..........

August 5, 2011  08:32 AM ET

Some of the best massage parlors are in Miami, it makes sense.

August 5, 2011  08:34 AM ET

Oooh, another big name to squish between Haynesworth and Wilfork.

And you won't have to wait long...GAME 1.

As a Jets fan I would LOVE to see this happen. More importantly, is it Favre's goal to play for a team and then play for their arch nemisis? Although NE has slowly edged Miami over the past decade.
