No guarantees for Santana in 2012, either

08:14 AM ET 08.05 | After a shoulder examination, the 2011 return of Johan Santana grows a longer shot every day. The Mets called his exam "otherwise normal," and said that Santana would spend the next week with the team at Citi Field and rest from throwing, but "maintain a fitness program" and "resume his throwing program once his shoulder is at full strength." That means Santana, who made one minor-league rehabilitation start before experiencing a setback this week, has taken a step back in his recovery from surgery. ... With time becoming scarce this season, Santana appears more likely to continue working, and hope to be ready for 2012. Even that is no guarantee; former Yankee Chien-Ming Wang, who underwent the same procedure, finally returned last week after missing more than two years.

Put him on the scrap heap along with the Yankee's AJ and Boone Logan! How sucky can AJ and Logan be. Johan just doesn't fit in NY. He and AJ will prosper agian, in a fly by night city.

They would probably just let him go after next year and start making the same bad decisions again.

I had the opportunity to go to every White Sox-Yankees game this week, just couldn't do it. Baseball is done here, as is my interest for the year.

Not as bad as the Dice K contract, but still an awful contract given to a starter.

I follow the Bears, yes. However, that is not fulfilling in the least.

Santana has a 2.85 era, a 144+ era+, averaged nearly 7 innings per start, and a .615 winning percentage with the Mets. Meaning when he was healthy he was as good as any pitcher in the National League.
