Rockies could set sights on Cuddyer

08:10 AM ET 08.08 | If, indeed, the Rockies will have to move on from dreaming about David Wright, what's next? Wright is under contract for $15 million next season with a $16 million option for 2013. The Mets, once a mess, are starting to regain their footing. They want to resign Jose Reyes and keep Wright. Credibility, what an interesting concept. They aren't trading him. So where does that leave the Rockies? The key to their offseason, as it stands today, is Minnesota outfielder Michael Cuddyer. The Rockies have several needs, their lineup littered with holes. Cuddyer, by himself, doesn't make the Rockies a playoff team next year or rid themselves of the bitter taste of this season. That said, Cuddyer represents exactly what the Rockies need: a power corner outfield bat.

Cuddyer would be HUGE for them and worth every penny.

Mets are Starting regain their footing?

Great Writing!

They just Lost 6 of their last 7 games, might have lost Reyes and did lose Murphy.

The Mets aren't going anywhere and neither is Wright...

That said - Cuddyer IS a solid player that would make any team better...

Question is - Do you think he'd clear Waivers so he could be traded to the Rockies?

Hate to see the Twins in such a fix. But I would hope they could get something for a class act (and professional hitter) like Cuddyer.

even if the rockies do trade for cuddyer that doesn't mean they will make it to the playoffs this season, but if the rockies are getting this player for another five years or so, then its worthed the trade, and that's if the twins haven't change their mind towards cuddyer, as maybe they would like to resign this player!!

Why not? The Rox have been on "Wait 'til next year!" mode since late May.

Cuddyer isnt goin anywhere. He's the longest tenured Twin on the roster, the only Twin hitting his weight & we value him more than just about anyone on the roster. We'd have 2 put him on waivers 1st- & that's not gonna happen.

Now if u were interested in Kubel or Young then we can start negotiating. CUDDYER ISNT FOR SALE!

does mike sciocia will be usin wilson as his regular catcher from now on? does mike give up finally on jeff mathis? could the angels send mathis to their minor system just to fix the mechanics on their young catcher? about conger does he will become the regular catcher on angels lineup next year?? now i know that mike sciocia loves to carry three catcher on his roster, but the problem itsn't that, the problem its that from all three catcher's none has done much for the team, when mike napoli was with the team he always was injuried to all kind freaky injuries, this catcher was only part time catcher but never full time catcher, maybe that was the thing thnapoli!!
