08:13 AM ET 08.08 | It may wind up taking two quarterbacks to replace Greg McElroy. Alabama quarterbacks AJ McCarron and Phillip Sims spoke with reporters for the first time Sunday prior to Fan Day at Bryant-Denny Stadium. As expected, both were complimentary of the other and said all the right things regarding the quarterback competition. ... McCarron was asked on the likelihood of sharing time at the position. "As long as we're winning that doesn't bother me at all," McCarron said. "Me and Phillip talk about it. If I've got to share time to, if he's got to be the guy or I've got to be the guy, we'll both support each other at the end of the day. "There's no problem sharing time. As long as you're winning, it doesn't matter."

I thought the ESPNsux commentators referred to McElroy as a game manager instead of a QB.

Won a hell of a lot of games not to have a QB...so there's hope for your Tigers LUS! LOL

Oh, and that smurf suit still sux.

Yeah, but watch the fur fly if things do not go so well. They just be doing their duty with lip service right now, what you would expect. QB iffy at both Bama and LSU, USCe has their's, interesting, very interesting.

At least Alabama doesn't already know that their QB sucks like LSU and USC do

That would be an upset and give the Big10+1+1 a win over the SEC.

.....don't think it will happen....but stranger things have happened.

Only reason I say it is Penn State is a very tough place to play, and seeing as bamas QB situation is in flux (as is PSU's) it could be a tricky game early in the season against a very tough PSU defense. Last year in Bama, Penn State made every mistake in the book and kept it close for a while. A couple bounces going the lions way and this could be the early season upset no one expects.

The new QB and the bounces could be a factor. However, I don't think playing in Happy Valley will bother Bama since they are used to playing in much more hostile places like LSU, UF, UTk, etc.

Now if it were snowing,.....

Defense will dominate....first one to 14 probably wins. On the road, anything is possible, but IMO Bamer is just too big and fast to lose this game. They matched up REALLY well against Mich St in the bowl last year, so I think they handle Penn State, even on the road

Did we watch the same game last year? Saban had the Tide offense take a leisurely stroll for most of the second half out of respect for JoePa.

FWIW, SEC nonconference gets lots of heat, but this year there are some very nice match-ups.....conferences want some braging rights? Go earn them on the field.

Bamer vs. Penn State would be big for B1G. Boyzee could beat UGA and BYU could beat Ole Miss to help the non-BCS, Oregon vs. LUS and WVA vs LUS could help 12-Pac and Big Least, TAMU vs Arky could help the Big 12, and there's always the USC jr vs. Clemson and Fla vs FSU to help the ACC. I'm sure I'm forgetting some, but these games ought to make for some good debat/trash talking on FN

PSU only wins if Bama turns it over 4+ times. Possible but very unlikely.

Yea PSU had a true freshman Qb in his 2nd game ever and 2 red zone picks and a red zone fumble. As I said, this year, with an even better defense, at home, with 110k fans gettin crazy loud and a few bounces and we could see an upset.

When is the Game (time) and will there be white out conditions?
