MSG on its way to unrecognizable

08:07 AM ET 08.09 | Season ticket holders can hope it's worth it. Even after just one summer and the first of three phases, the Garden will be an unrecognizable place in late October when the doors reopen for the first time, whether it be for a Rangers or Knicks preseason game. (Bet on the Rangers opening the place). The three-summer project will cost [James Dolan] at least $850 million. There's no taxpayer money but that well-publicized 49 percent season ticket hike. ... As for the sixth floor concourse, it is a whopping change: three times the width, and featuring a bank of windows that gives a view of the old Post Office and Eighth Avenue, making yourself truly feel amidst the bright lights of the big city.

My beloved Madison Square Garden is about to become even more spectacular. There is truly nowhere better than NYC. I love NY.

You gotta love NY, there's no place like it. I mean Nets started building an arena in Brooklyn since the dawn of time. Then Dolan comes out of nowhere and bam... he has a new arena while Nets are still building or whatever they're doing. Money talks!!!

"featuring a bank of windows that gives a view of the old Post Office and Eighth Avenue...", because the view of what's happening inside will still stink.

850 million to revamp the dump...great, but it's still minor league in terms of capacity.

I'm glad that you've registered an opinion since it presents the perfect opportunity to advise you that I am planning a relocation to Columbus Ohio in the not to distant future. We're going to be neighbors. We'll have to get together asap pal!

Just say when. I'm not hard to find. You probably won't like Columbus--I don't, but it isn't a bad place to live and raise a family. As for sports, it's all about the Suckeyes. I hate them.

Spoken like a true idiot. Congratulations.

The Doc, beaming ear to ear like a toddler swelling with pride while looking at the turd that he managed to deposit in the potty all by himself.

No doubt the building is going to look good, but are we supposed to be impressed? It comes at a cost of 850 million, which is probably double what a brand new building would cost anywhere is in the country. Meanwhile, it's still going to be undersized. Even funnier is that clowns like you are more than happy to pay for the priviledge of getting screwed in this.

But yah, it's somehow amongst the pantheon of sports in the minds of New Yorkers. Doesn't seem to matter that nothing relevant has happened inside that building in over 2 years either I suppose.
