08:11 AM ET 08.09 | As long as Paul Konerko keeps hitting home runs, he'll be OK. [But] manager Ozzie Guillen admitted he's concerned about the condition of his slugger's left leg. "I worry about him," Guillen said of Konerko, who hasn't shown any improvement in the past four games since returning from high left calf bruise. "I worry about him because he doesn't want to play that way. When he run the bases, he feel a little embarrassed. We all know what's going on. In the meanwhile, I'm concerned about it, and that's why I keep asking about hopefully this problem won't damage another thing - the hips or the back or the other knee. That's why I have to keep close with him to see how he feels. He says he feels a little bit better, but he's still struggling."

If the player is willing to play - and the doctors have cleared him..... not much Ozzie can do.

Except bench him...which is counterproductive if Konerko is still driving in runs.

Morning all...COJONES!!!

He seems to be. Funny that he is embarrassed about being slow now with a sore leg. He was always slow.

That is the ONLY dude on that team I wouldnt want to see anything happen to as just being a fan of the game in general. And even as a Tigers fan that he and the old days of Thome and Dye would mercilessly pummel us into a new level of hell each series- I still respect the man as one of the better player atheltes in the game.
I hope the guys still around for awhile.

Ahem. Although if he took off all series against the Tigers for future referance- well, that would be ok too... Ha!

Sup Barkeep!
Big series with the Tribe this week- I am prety excited! Been a loooooong time since the Tigers ever played any really important games against the Indians as far as neck and neck competition goes. First of 12.
Fister vs Masterson
Porcello vs Ubaldo
Verlander vs Carmona

Its gonna be fun!

Should be a good series...glad they skipped Penny's turn in the rotation for that series.

I was actually at the game last Thursday afternoon when Penny pitched (department outing)...one bad inning did him in.

He isnt as bad as people think. Honestly though- he is just holding Turners place. Personally Penny would be very effective in the bullpen. Its just one bad inning he has. usually the 4th or 5th where he hits the trouble of the order turning over and them getting better looks...
