08:23 AM ET 08.09 | Leave it to Dan Carcillo, who served up media gold Monday, to inject a little spirit into the Blackhawks-Canucks rivalry. Carcillo is ready to take on Vancouver Canucks, past and present. "A few guys there play a little outside of their shoes," said Carcillo, who threw out Max Lapierre as well as former Canucks Raffi Torres (now in Phoenix) and Tanner Glass (Winnipeg). "And I think I can keep most of these guys in check when we play them this year." ... "The way I play I'm bound to miss a few games every year," he said. "I don't want to say I like being suspended. I don't like missing games. But the way I play, tough to stay out of the principal's office."

How many more weeks before the season starts? Much as Carcillo tries to make it sound interesting, I didn't even check the schedule to see when Chicago first plays Vancouver.
We need less talk, more hockey.

He tried to make it sound interesting but he called out two guys that aren't in Vancouver anymore and called the third one Laperriere.
The Hawks might have gotten a bit tougher but they certainly didn't get any smarter.

I'm sure Carcillo will do for the Hawks what he did for the Flyers. Which was . . . . ahhh . . . . . hmmmm

Stupidly fighting Max and changing the momentum of the game leading to a Pens victory.
Thanks again Dan!

this is exactly the point...he'll be a liability all over the ice and he'll run around trying to fight guys that arent interested in fighting. He'll get to feel like a big shot all the while serving stupid penalties and cost his team games. I've got no time for a bum like Carcillo.

Hawks fans will love him, everyone else will hate him. Same as it was in Philly. Every once and awhile he'll score a pretty goal as well. That's the only thing that ever realy bothered me about him. He has the talent to put up 20 goals, but he gets caught up in the tough guy act. If Q-stache can reel him in by about 50-75 pims i bet he could hit that mark, but in reality he'll probably be a healthy scratch for at least 30 games.

If that turns out to be the case, the Hawks will simply not dress him. The Hawks have enough depth now that they can afford to sit a guy if he is out of control. Hated Carcillo with the Flyers, but am interested to see how his game will help the Hawks.

I can't wait to see how long it will take "goon boy" to get benched for taking stupid penalties against the Red Wings. The Black Hawks may have gotten tougher, but they also got a lot stupider!

Vancouver is well know for "tough-guy" hockey and used it to good effect against the wimpy Blcakhawks in the playoffs. This kind of "throwing down the gauntlet" is what the Hawks need to make it clear to Vancouver that there will be consequences for that type of play in the future. I expect what he said was cleared through the organization as a sort of "preemptive" action to keep the lid on a little bit (and to excite a some bloodlust in Chicago fans who felt like they were from the "city of narrow shoulders" after last year's series).

It's refreshing to see a player admit he is a dirty player and expects a couple suspensions every year.

As much as I can't stand Carcillo, Lapierre is a player I despise even more. Have at him Daniel.

Yeah they're my team and I missed this besides watching Rypien (a cruiserweight) take down some heavys and actually throw them with the super-heavies. Hasn't been much fighting in Vancouver for years
And Rypien is now a Jet and their fans will love him
