11:24 AM ET 08.09 | Ryan Truex will drive six Nationwide Series races for Joe Gibbs Racing this season, the team announced Tuesday. Truex will drive the No. 20 car Sept. 3 at Atlanta and then at Richmond, Chicago, Dover, Kansas and Phoenix. Sponsorship was not announced. The 19-year-old Truex has 17 career Nationwide starts with one top-10 finish. He is the two-time defending champion of the K&N Pro Series East. Truex, the younger brother of Michael Waltrip Racing driver Martin Truex Jr., had started the year with Pastrana Waltrip Racing.

The sponsorship fell through at Pastrana Waltrip so Gibbs signs him. Gibbs doesn't seem to have any sponsor problems. Truex did pretty good in the Pro East Series.

He would be all set if his middle name was Danica. LOL

Splittails can get a sponsor anytime, a good driver has to fight for them. Ryan did do pretty good in the K&N series, I hope he does good with Gibbs.

Watch the "splittail" kick his **** with regularity...just as she would do you. Although you wouldn't be able to keep it off the wall, so that's pretty much moot.

I don't like Gibbs or his drivers.....but I do admit that they have the best Toyotas (ugh) in Nascar....so if Ryan is going to get his feet wet.....that is a good place to start.....too early to tell how good he will be in Nascar.......lower level successes don't always transfer to the higher levels......I hope this is not the case here.
