Sources: UCLA to interview Chow

Titans offensive coordinator Norm Chow is expected to interview for the head coaching position at UCLA by the end of the week, sources familiar with the situation said. Indications are Chow or his agent have been contacted by a search firm working on behalf of UCLA, and that the interview could take place Saturday before the Titans play at Kansas City on Sunday, or at some point after the game.

It's Not!

Why is this guy not on Michigan's list? An offensive genious? Got forbid Bill Martin would ever want that.

Report Offensive Comment

Clarifcation....this is the type of guy we need. Fans would welcome him, clueless Martin remains clueless.

Report Offensive Comment

Norm Chow is long over due for a big time head coaching job. UCLA would be foolish not to hire him.

Report Offensive Comment

WOW! Its about time somebody noticed Norm Chow. Suddenly UCLA has two great coaches to choose from, the other being their Interim Coach, DeWayne Walker. Don't blow this opportunity!

Report Offensive Comment

Norm Chow is completely overdue for a coaching position. Got to agree with BCS on this, why isn't he on Michigan's radar?

Report Offensive Comment

JHova, BCS,

Its because he is a good prospect.. Martin only looks at people who underachieve, like Miles, Cameron, etc... etc...

Report Offensive Comment

Norm Chow would be a great fit at UCLA, He should have been in the radar for all the schools that are looking for coaches this year.

Report Offensive Comment

would the big ten allow an offensive genious to coach UM?

Report Offensive Comment

I don't want anything to do with Norm Chow. After BYU the guy clearly has shown a lack of interest in committing to anyone long term. He's simply outdated. UCLA can have him.

Report Offensive Comment

anyone ever wonder why Chow has never held a head coaching job before? did it ever occur to you that he's not a head coach for a reason? as a Buckeye fan i would LOVE to see a guy with ZERO head coaching experience take the job up there. I think Chow is in the same category as Mike Martz and Dirk Koetter, great offensive minds but a disaster at running the entire operation.

Report Offensive Comment

UCLA has finally gotten smart. This guy wants to coach, knows the PAC 10, knows very well the strengths and weaknesses - and all the schemes - of USC, is a great offensive minded-strategist. HEY UCLA: GET HIM!

Report Offensive Comment

Celtsfan - And you know this how? He's been an asst. for some great head coaches. Plus, he wouldn't start out at 1.5 $$ UCLA would be a nice fit, I think he would work out in a warm climate state.

Report Offensive Comment

Hey CeltsFan,
If as you say, Chow "has never held a head coaching job," how do you know he would be "a disaster at running the entire operation?" Your implied prescience is actually baseless opinionated speculation. In fact, running the offense at SC all those years proves the opposite. He will certainly do better than Dorrell.

Kraz be careful what you wish for...

Report Offensive Comment

Wow.. he would be a good fit..

Report Offensive Comment

Michigan or maybe just their AD is under the presumption that UM is a top tier postion, I dont see it that way anymore, Yes a great school, great traditions, but maybe time is slowly passing UM by, I hope they land a diamond in the rough like OSU did, they need it, and so does the Big Ten.

Report Offensive Comment

Kraz, are you high? Some would argue that the Trojans were better with Chow. The guy knows Pete Caroll scheme as good as anyone. It would be HUGE for UCLA to take Chow.

Report Offensive Comment

The Trojans havent been the same since Norm left.

Report Offensive Comment

xxx84xxx: It pains me to say this but you are correct. The days of Michigan being MICHIGAN are gone.

J. Hova, i dont think Michigan is done... every program has ups and downs but if they are not careful with who they pick as the next head coach, there is a lot of room for them to go down... just look at Nebraska and ND (who by the way would have loved to have UM record this season).
