08:02 AM ET 08.10 | In a conversation about his legacy, Ray Lewis talked both about how capable he is to keep playing football and how soon he might leave it. "My son will be a junior this year. I only play this game for another ring. If we can win it this year, and I'm being brutally honest with you, if we win it this year, I'm gone to then spend as much time as I can with him," Lewis said. "I'm gone to be with my son. And I feel like now we have enough pieces in place to make a good run at the Super Bowl." So if the Ravens win a title this season -- and they have a definite shot to do so -- Lewis may not come back. Is that set in stone? No, but Lewis made it very clear that while he isn't consistently pondering retirement, a championship would likely lead to the end of one of the top five greatest defensive careers the sport has seen.

Can understand that. I think a lot of players feel the same way - would retire if they win the SB.

He had another opportunity to commit murder and get away with it.

Almost as good as the Redskins are the ones to beat. AKA the other story on T&R

There was an article in the paper this morning, First game; Ray Lewis tackles Mendenhall and puts him out of the game, who would be the backup RB? The Steelers always worry about this guy and what he can do.

The Ravens were just a couple of dropped passes away last year. It's too early to say about this year, but I wouldn't write them off at this point.

Actually, part of his plea deal and turning testimony against his cronies required he stay out of trouble and have a job.
I think he is just waiting for another tv gig to be handed to another ex player to be offered to him. That could be the hold up.
