08:21 AM ET 08.11 | Talk that the Aggies will jump ship is coming around again, reaching the halls of the governor. Gov. Rick Perry provided interesting insight Wednesday into the rumors that have Texas A&M eventually leaving the Big 12 for the Southeastern Conference. Asked by The Dallas Morning News statehouse reporters about SEC speculation regarding A&M, Perry responded: "I'll be real honest with you. I just read about it the same time as y'all did. ... As far as I know, conversations are being had. That's frankly all I know. I just refer you to the university and the decision makers over there." ... Big 12 commissioner Dan Beebe also offered a statement: "I'll put it this way, I'm taking it very seriously," he told the Austin American-Statesman.

Who is coming with them? I doubt that Slive will sacrifice the Championship game for the Velcro glove crew.

Well...since we learned on here that the only place touting OU to the SEC is on here....perhaps they will be looking to VT? Makes sense as to expanding the market...

I would <hit myself if VT got into the SEC. It does have the market and the recruiting base.

They can still have the championship game with uneven divisions, but like you, who else???/

VT makes sense, maybe Louisville. Slive will be gunning for OU and UTx. They are big dogs. OU being the #1 restricted free agent because they don't have their own network yet.

They may also be talking with either of them, behind the scenes, just has not been leaked yet maybe. May even be talking with Oregon or U$C, who knows. Like the Big Least is probably in secret talks with the horns. :-)<stir, stir>

UTx to the Big Least makes sense. They would be willing to give UTx it's own pie just to have them.

VT is having too much fun owning the ACC!

QUOTE(#10):

If your looking at it from strictly regional stand point, I think Clemson would make more since than Virginia Tech. I don't see them jumping over the state of North Carolina and into Virginia, but when money is involved, anything can happen.

Not Clemson...they already saturate South Carolina.

QUOTE(#12):

They could add Clemson and VT to the east division.

If they are adding TAMU, then only one more.

I know...this is ALL speculation

QUOTE(#11):

The will probably move LSU to the east, to make room for two new additions to the west and add one more to the east side, that would make it even, then add one more to each side for 16.

They wouldn't move the most western school to the east. More likely Aubie or Miss State

another damn QUAD

SC market and recruiting is covered by USCe. VT has the DC market and Tidewater recruits.

Miss State would be the easiest, only big rival is Ole Miss.
