Recruits watching Michigan search

Despite the prolonged nature of the search to replace Michigan coach Lloyd Carr, four of five Michigan recruits at the Free Press All-State Dream Team banquet said that more than likely they would wind up playing for the Wolverines. Grand Haven offensive lineman Dann O'Neill, Traverse City West offensive lineman Rocko Khoury and Birmingham Detroit Country Day linebacker Kenny Demens said they talk weekly with Michigan assistants and are assured that Michigan will get the right man. Novi Detroit Catholic Central defensive lineman Mike Martin was in attendance, but the U. missed him.

Boubacar Cissoko (spelling?) has already visited Tennesee and reportedly Illinois. The Wolverines cannot let a cornerback of his caliber go elsewhere.

This is the type of kid Michigan needs...

I agree with The Truth, this are the type of guys ever institution needs.

One of Michigan's most glaring deficiencies is on defense..speed killed them....they need to get faster on the corners..ends and olb's

Guys Cissoko is 5-8... with cleats on. This isn't a Greek god playing CB or anything. A solid athlete with good instincts - who is just another kid playing CB in high school. Let's leave him off the freshman all-American list for the time being, eh?

Kraz, CBs are suppose to be between 5-8 and 6 feet, so i will admit that he is on the short end of the position, but is not like Michigan should be getting picky with their recruits, is not the time for that.

Lloyd's not clever enough to pull off a Palpatine like this.

ice my point is that it's not like this guy is going to single handedly allow us to stop the spread offense better... he's just another CB prospect. Second point is that people need to relax about recruits. They are what they are... 17 and 18 year old kids who might end up in 4 other positions before their scholarships are fully used up. If a few leave, that means they ARE NOT the type of kids we need.

Kraz, i do agree that the players should be committed to the school (not just the coach) and be loyal, but it should be a two way street, so Michigan should also keep this players informed because to some of them this is their future.
