09:33 AM ET 08.13 | Nearly every time Jerry Jones says the name Nnamdi Asomugha, the Cowboys owner and general manager reveals a little more about the negotiations that took place between the Cowboys and the top cornerback in free agency. Asomugha, who signed with the Philadelphia Eagles two weeks ago, landed a contract that will pay him $60 million over the next five seasons."We had known that he really wanted to be a Dallas Cowboy," Jones said. "And that's a fact. There, for about an hour, I thought he was going to be a Dallas Cowboy. You do that because you can do it and should do it, and take advantage of the opportunity."

Mamma don't let your children grow up to be Cowboys...

I hate that he is an Iggle... but I'm actually cool with him not being a Cowboy. His contract would have extended the salary cap hell we are currently in.

Better for Jerry to get this mess straightened up and FRIGGIN' DRAFT BETTER!!!!!!!

August 13, 2011  09:49 AM ET

I'm sure Nnamdi Asomugha said that to all the teams. They were going to throw $ millions at him, what's going to say, "I don't want to play for you"?

I'm glad he's not a Jet, they would be even more insufferable, not that the "Dream Team" is much better

Your jealousy is understandable.

I don't think the Eagles experiment will end up where most think it will. "Win now" is usually a crapshoot. I think the Cowboys will give them a run for the money in the division and Eagles prolly won't even get to the NFC Championship game.

If you are a Jets fan that explains a lot.

If you are an Iggles fan, i guess we will see what they do at playoff time....

I am Not Jealous of either team.

Eagles. And I was joking either way. I'm not from Philadelphia so I'm not totally unbearable.

I wish the other Iggles luck, an all PA Superbowl would be awesome

As long as the Eagles win, I agree! Good luck to you and your team as well.

This guy made big bucks while in Oakland and what did he do?
Got beat, happy days Philly, ya gonna need it!

Preseason game Thursday, see how they do against each other.

TO LATE!

August 13, 2011  10:04 AM ET

Sorry Jerry, its a nice stadium but not a great team. No offense.

One guy... ONE. Uttered the ridiculous words "Dream Team". ONE single player. Vince Young.

Not one other Eagle, starter or backup, veteran or rookie, said "Dream Team".

I really wish the league, other teams, and the media would let it go. Vince Young said "Dream Team". That's it.... and we all know how reliable a character he is.

They have assembled some awesome talent, now if they can make it click...

Yeah, cause nobody deserves a shot at redemption.

August 13, 2011  10:12 AM ET

The Eagles tried to improve a defense that was horrible last year. HORRIBLE. They signed Babin, Jenkins, Nnamdi, and traded for DRC.

On offense, they brought in an often injured Ryan Harris, a 30 year old Ronnie Brown, and an injured Steve Smith.

How is it a "hyped" team. Or a "dream team"?

The only thing reason this is news in Philly, is because the Eagles are normally cheap.

I am just saying that the Giants beat writer was on a station and he was talking about how the Giants are fuming at the idea that the Eagles are a "dream team".

Vince Young, the back up QB who has been an Eagle for 3 weeks said that..... and not one other Eagle has even uttered the words.
