10:13 AM ET 08.14 | A's DH Hideki Matsui is a great choice for a team needing a hitter because since the All-Star break he has raised his average from .209 to .268. Matsui is a clutch player in October and would actually be a good fit for the Yankees, who have benched Jorge Posada.

He is an excellent candidate for a four year/60 million dollar contract extension from the Yankees.

Chavez is DHing for the Yanks right now and when A-Rod comes back, it will be hard enough getting Jorge ABs let alone Matsui. Don't get me wrong - I love Matsui but there isn't a spot for him unless the Yanks are eyeing him solely for the expanded September roster.

I think he is a great choice to replace big pappy. he can room with Dice K on the road.

The guy can't play the field right now.......he is a professional, no? Yet he makes an error every gameNy is trying to win a WS nowNy is not the royals, where all we are trying to do is develop prospectshe can dh, but keep him off the field

settle down there, Tiger. A-Rod will be back this week and Nunez will be back on the bench. I stand by what I said - Nunez will improve defensively and he finally appears to be a viable replacement for Jeter in a couple years.

Why, on God's green earth, would the Yankees sign or make a deal for Matsui? This team scores runs as often as Cameron Diaz changes boyfriends..they do not need offense...coming from Sox fan, they suffer the same problem as we do; pitching. You wanna watch a game between Wake and AJ?

Ha! Nice try. Papi is not going anywhere and I have $50 that says Dice-K never returns to the United States.
