07:56 AM ET 08.17 | Wondering why the 49ers didn't take a swing at signing a veteran free agent quarterback earlier? The answer: They did, but former Seahawks quarterback Matt Hasselbeck decided to sign with the Tennessee Titans, instead. "My decision came down to San Francisco or Tennessee," Hasselbeck said on a radio show on Seattle's KJR. "At the end of the day, that was my decision. And San Fran would have been attractive for a whole bunch of reasons. And that offense, I believe, is pretty similar." ... "I felt good about that, but at the end of the day, I think my conversation with the head coach and the offensive line here (in Tennessee) ... a lot of stuff just felt really good about it."

Its just sad how far the 49ers have fallen since the good old days.

Tenn is a better fit.

Wow, as wierd as he looks in a Titans Uniform he would have look alot wierder in a 49'ers one.

I guess he saw the writing on the wall....Despite the draft of Kaeperneck- Harbaugh would still like to be in the Luck sweepstakes- why else would he keep Alex Smith and workout (possibly give a one year deal) to Culpepper ?

And besides, he just wasn't a big fan of Mister Ed when he watched the reruns on TV as a little kid.

Saw that picture one too many times and said "**** that!"

Neither team has a prayer, so he looked at the cuisine. I'd take barbecue over Rice-a-Roni, too.

Can't really blame him. Mind you, with both those teams he probably had to consider which town had the more Starbucks locations and hotter cheerleaders.

Hey, if I'm an old, slow QB trying to squeeze out a few more seasons, I'm going to the team that has Chris Johnson to hand the ball to as well!

Wrong. He could have won in SF.

Except for the fact that CJ's holding out, and it looks like he really means it.

He couldn't wear "8" in SF.

Yeah - that could be a problem!

Only to Chris Johnson. With or without him, the Titans and Hasselbeck are irrelevant. A holdout does nothing for the team but improve their chances in the Suck for Luck competition.
