08:23 AM ET 08.18 | The jury on John Brantley, in many circles, is still out, but not among his Florida teammates. [Brantley] threw more interceptions than touchdowns last year and was so dismal that he lost playing time to a pair of converted tight ends. But Gators DT Jaye Howard said Brantley is "on fire" in training camp and will shock the world this fall. "All I can say is the SEC better watch out, man," Howard said. "Brantley is on fire right now. His whole demeanor has changed. He's taken charge of the offense. He's running the show now and you can really tell it. In my eyes, he's a Heisman candidate." Seems unlikely, but OK. Here are some other notes from today: Howard also has high expectations of back-up quarterback Jeff Driskel, a true freshman. "He's great, man," he said. "In my eyes, he's the next Tim Tebow."

So, the translation for this is that Jaye Howard thinks the fat man is a miracle worker?

UF will run the football to much for Heisman #s. IF there is a Heisman candidate it will be Chris Rainey or Trey Burton.

Andrew Luck already won the Heisman for 2011. Let move on to who will win the Heisman for 2012.

If a prophecy said that a new starting QB in the state of Florida will win the Heisman this year I would put my money on EJ Manuel at FSU. I do not think EJ will win it but I think he has a better chance than Brantley.

Although we need to remember that according to Deonte Thompson Brantley is, "You know what I mean, a real quarterback." Unlike Timmy T apparently. According to Thompson at least.

And now Urban Meyer is looking for me so that he can yell at me. Oh my.
