08:31 AM ET 08.18 | Restricted free-agent defenseman Drew Doughty and the Kings can agree on this much publicly: They don't have a deal. "No, not at all. That's certainly not accurate," Doughty's agent, Don Meehan, said. ... Kings General Manager Dean Lombardi declined to comment but indicated no accord was near with Doughty, a franchise defenseman and Norris Trophy finalist in 2009-10 as a second-year player. Jack Ferreira, a special assistant to Lombardi, recently told the Riverside Press-Enterprise he had informed Lombardi that Doughty's representatives "don't want to make a deal ... I would not be surprised if he was a holdout." Meehan said that comment was "frustrating and disappointing to Drew," who is working out regularly at home in London, Canada.

Of course he'll hold out, the next logical step in pi$$ing contest with Lombardi.

On a side note, who gave too much coffee to the spammers? Those cretins came out in force today.

Just pay you ****tards. Seriously, you think you're going to bring in a guy like Richards, pay a guy like Kopitar, and just expect Doughty to take less for all of that? You people DO realize you traded for a year and a half of Dustin Penner, right? Friggen arrogance man.

The Wings should just step in with a trade offer right now and get it all over with. I don't care what principles would go back to LA, make it happen!

And working out in London? Is that what the kids call it these days? Word is he's living it up there, haha. The Wings would get him in shape, but don't be surprised if the Kings watch him pull a groin whenever he DOES return.

Surprising for a young kid like Doughty to not go blasting like Bradley about the situation, good self control and discipline on his part.

So your saying that it's unlikely that he'll be able to "holdout" much longer, before...
