08:19 AM ET 08.19 | Add O's fan Edward Norton, who turned 42 on Thursday, to those who believe in Cal Ripken. What does he want for his birthday? For [Ripken] to come save his Orioles. "Thanks for all the nice messages. People have been asking what I want for my birthday. This:" Norton wrote on Twitter, linking to a site asking for donations for the Maasai Wilderness Conservation Trust. He added: "And for Cal Ripken to come back and be Manager and GM of the Orioles and revive our poor team." Norton is going to have to wait at least another year for his birthday wish to get fulfilled. Ripken said on Wednesday that he's a year or two away from seriously considering a return to the major leagues.

No. Ralph Kramden's neighbor.

Except that Ripen doesn't want to run the O's; he wants to OWN them...

Hey Norton! Get over he-ah!

If Ripken brings his stash of PEDs, that could be quite helpful

Look at this today I decide to wear my Cal Ripken Jr jersey and this report comes out.......must mean something good, but then again I ahte my job so will Ripken if he coaches/GMs that team

Won't make a difference as long as Angelos owns the team. If your not willing to make a bold move in the AL East, you don't stand a prayer

August 19, 2011  10:55 AM ET

Ah, who the hell is Edward Norton?

Yes. You are the center of the universe. The shirt you wear determines the fate of millions

One of the dumbest comments ever. No way did he ever use PEDs and there hasnt ever been any one doubting that.

I think the O's have a good manager but the ownership really stinks. They've been a bottom dweller ever since he bought the team.

Look at all his comments, they are all negative, although I had to laugh about "the center of the universe" comment.

I actually think Mcphail has been handcuffed by Angelos. Looking back at the Tex situation they wouldnt put up the money. Prince Fielder would be awsome this offseason but theres no way of knowing if they will put that big dollar up.

What? Norton wants Ripken to return the O's to their glory days when Ripken was a player? Those days always seemed to fall in April.

Then won the World Series in 83 and made the playoffs a hand full of times with Ripken

They also went 0 - 21 in '88 with Ripken...

So Cal knows how to lose too :-)

You have absolutely on way to be certain of that. He played in a tainted era, and his name should be no less tainted than anyone else's.
