08:47 AM ET 08.20 | Former Miami Hurricane great Alonzo Highsmith, a Green Bay Packers scout whose son A.J. is a reserve safety for the Hurricanes, told CaneSport.com Friday that he will pilot a lawsuit against the NCAA on behalf of all Hurricane players if the Nevin Shapiro scandal results in sanctions that affect the Miami team. "This lawsuit will be on behalf of all the kids who have done nothing wrong and would be being deprived of what they came to college for," Highsmith said. "Look at the Reggie Bush situation. Look at what he did to the USC program. All those kids that went to USC for all the right reasons had to suffer the consequences."

I think the kids can transfer without sitting out can' they? If so, the NCAA would be doing them a favor.

Papa, do you think they will be able to field a team to play us? I think they are gonna have to suspend every current player named by Shapiro.

Wouldn't thst be great penalty for a school: that any/all of the scholarship athletes have the option to transfer to another school, any school, without losing any eligibilty?

Highsmith said "All those kids that went to USC for all the right reasons had to suffer the consequences". I read it has "all of the good kids that went to USC for all the right reasons had to suffer the consequences. IMO, why should "all" of the good kids have to suffer for what an idiot like Bush did?

Guido, it is the self-imposed pre-emptive suspension that I am referring to. What Miami has to ask itself is what if we play guys who are eventually found ineligible? Well if they didn't play then you don't have to forfeit the games they played in. This was the same situation that Auburn was in when they asked the NCAA to give them the quickie ruling on Cam Newton. Remember they "suspended" Cam for a day and asked the NCAA to rule on him?

Yes, but the CN investigation is still ongoing. If you asked for a quickie ruling now, I think the ncaa would rule all are eligible, because they move so slow and usually won't have a negative ruling until they feel they have a slam dunk case. And, if as an AD you have the option of taking your chances with 30 players, don't you think they'd take it? Think of the revenue lost in ticket sales and the like vs a vacated win? With all that may be looming, a vacated win is peanuts.
Plus, since when has the u taken the high road.

Huh? Alonzo just need to keep quiet on this. We all saw the 30 for 30. What Nevin did was probably tame compared to what happened during his time.
